Description: Presenting a superb set of five metal stacking hedgehog ashtrays originally designed by the legendary Austrian designer Walter Bosse for Hertha Baller circa 1950s. This set are a vintage Russian reproduction of the original Walter Bosse design, produced circa 1960s. This magnificent set beautifully reflects the Hagenauer and Eames era in which it was produced. The five individual pieces are brilliantly designed to nest within each other, the waved rims of each piece forming the spiked body of the hedgehog and creating a wonderfully sculptural form. This fabulous set have been finished with a fur-like texture to the exterior, wonderfully contrasting the smooth inner surfaces. Each piece stands upon little bun feet and has a delightful hedgehog face. MARKS: The base of the largest hedgehog is marked with a Russian stamp as indicated in the images. This set would make a superb addition to any Walter Bosse design or Mid 20th Century collection!
