Description: Here is a beautiful and ornate sterling silver spoon from White Sulphur Springs, Montana dating back to years around 1900 featuring many intricate detailed images on the front and back of handle. On the front of the handle features detailed images of state seal with mountain scenery and rising sun and plow in forefront and a sign reading ORO Y PLATA, below depiction of mine or smelter building with smoke coming out of chimney, then a miner’s tools of pick, shovel and hammer, then writing MONTANA down the handle and a bucket close to the bowl. In the bowl it has engraved writing WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS. On the back of the handle it features eagle with spread wings and US shield and flag below. It measures 5-3/8 inch long (135 mm) and in excellent condition. On the back is marked STERLING and has maker’s hallmarks of P & B within embossed hearts for PAYE and BAKER MFG. CO.
