Description: This fabulous sterling coffee pot, sugar and creamer are part of a tête-à-tête coffee set by Gorham. The companion tray is a separate listing. The set was probably sold at the Gorham shop in Paris, France some time after 1905. The date mark on the tray is the Gorham mark for 1905. The sugar bowl has a date mark for 1903. We purchased the set from a dealer in Paris, France. All pieces have fabulous designs featuring swans on the handles and other wonderful embellishments. All pieces have the stamped Minerva mark indicating they was imported to France. The coffee pot, A 4016, is an impressive 13" tall and weighs a substantial 28.5 troy ounces. Unfortunately, someone attempted to remove the fancy monogram found on all the other pieces in the set. I showed it to a well-known silversmith in Atlanta, Georgia, and he said the monogram can be easily restored for around one hundred fifty dollars. There is a small dent midway on the spout. The cream pitcher, A 4018 weighs 8.3 troy ounces. It stands 5 5/8" tall, and 4 1/2" across the handle. The elaborate monogram is untouched. The sugar bowl, A 4017, weighs 10.7 ounces troy. It is 3 1/8" tall and 4 1/3" across the bowl. The weight of the entire set, including the tray, not included here, is 105.2 troy ounces. This truly a magnificent set. Please see our other excellent silver by Gorham, Tiffany, Durgin and other fine makers. We also have some excellent silver from the British Isles. Please contact us if you have any questions.
