Your best buyer protection is to ask questions and view all pictures - something that may seem obvious to you regarding an item may not be obvious to me. Our vinyl is visually graded NM- (Near Mint minus)very, very light signs of use, if any and will bear no marks, sleeve scuffs, or scratches. EX (Excellent) - Vinyl has been handled and played very carefully. Vinyl may have a few visual imperfections. (i.e. sleeve scuffs, faint scratches, or other superficial marks) that will not affect play. Covers show minor signs of handling and wear. VG + ( Very Good plus) Visible imperfections. These may include sleeve scuffs, light scratches (sometimes called hairlines because they are so thin), or other superficial marks. You may hear some "classic" vinyl record noise in quieter passages VG (Very Good) Same imperfections found on a VG+ record but in greater numbers. Defects are more pronounced with visible signs of handling and playing. Surface noise is evident upon playing, especially during soft passages and a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Records graded VG will not have any scratches that are deep enough to be felt with a fingernail. G (Good) Pervasive imperfections including varying degrees of scratches. The record plays without skipping, although noticeable surface noise or ticks will be heard. FAQ Q: Why do we always include a picture of the actual label? A: It does give an indication of how the record was handled as it was placed and removed from the record player but more importantly the color of the label used by the record company will tell you when a record was made. Meaning if a seller says "1980 record" but the label color was only used after 1985... obviously someone is fibbing. Q: Why is it important to see if the back of an album has a barcode? A: Barcodes were used on vinyl records AFTER 1981. So anyone showing a year before 1981 in their listing and then showing a picture of the album with a barcode is fibbing about when the record was made. Q: The vinyl looks so good why do I hear that classic vinyl sound of snap, crackle or pop? A: Many records with a grade of VG+ or better may look amazing. However keep in mind that the majority of the vinyl I sell is 40, 50 and sometimes 60 years old. And they may have been handled correctly, but dust has had time to settle and grab hold. Regardless of a records grade we strongly recommend a good cleaning before playing. Q: Why do you put so much information in your listings? A: If you've got this far I've done it for you. :)
