4 x New Onkyo CP-1055F Turntable tone arm gear

Description: Welcome to The Speaker Port Up for sale is a brand new set of 4 replacement tone arm drive gears to repair the rubberized version in an Onkyo CP-1055F turntable (or similar model that uses the same gear.) This is NOT an original unit, but a reproduction using 3D Printing technology. It is made from PLA plastic which is substantially stronger than the original rubber material that breaks down/cracks/melts as a result of age, heat and the elements. Substantial time and effort and numerous versions of this gear have been produced to ensure we have as accurately as possible reproduced the original part. With this said, please read these important notes on it's use: TolerancesDue to limitations in the capabilities of current 3D printing technology, tolerances are not 100% exact to the original. I have personally (and successfully) tested this gear on otherwise working system that have not been modified or damaged in any way. If your system has been modified or damaged (such as worn down worm drive gear, broken teeth, etc), it is possible you may have fitment issues. Please address these modifications/damages first. FitmentEvery attempt was made to try and get this gear to be a direct replacement for the original. Depending on your actual system, there may two things you may run into. I will do my best to describe each and provide instructions on how to deal with them. The gear is held onto it's shaft by a simple, yet small C-clip. First and foremost, take care in removing this clip to prevent damage to it. Properly and completely clean the shaft to remove any grease/debris from the original gear. In addition, make certain the the motor worm gear and bottom tone arm gears are also properly and completely cleaned of any old lubrication grease/debris. I recommended using either proper turntable oil or lithium grease to re-lubricate the shaft before you put on the new gear. You do not need tons....just enough to sufficiently coat it. Long story short, the new gear should spin freely on the shaft without the C-Clip installed. When you install back the C-Clip, the gear should continue to spin freely. If you notice that the gear becomes tight, then remove the gear from the shaft and check for any residue on the shaft or remaining debris left in or around the mounting area that could be causing interference in the gear fitting properly on the shaft.The servo motor that drives this gear has a worm drive on it. It spins the wider end of the gear which in turn spins the tone arm gear at the bottom with the thinner end. depending on your setup, you may notice that the worm gear may not be making good contact to the new gear. There are two small screws that hold down the bracket that the servo motor is mounted to. You can simply loosen them and re-adjust the servo so it makes good contact and then tighten back up the screws. In fact, we recommend you do this no matter what just to make sure everything is good before you put it all back together again. Note: don't make it too tight, it should have a little play between the gear and worm drive. The servo motor does not have a lot of torque so if it is too tight, it wont spin.It is possible that this part will fit other Onkyo models as well as other brand's. It has been verified to work with the model identified in this listing. If you choose to purchase this item for use in a different system, you do so at your own risk. Notes:The original part was made out of a softer material that did not hold up over time. We believe that one of the reasons it was necessary to use a part made from the type of material Onkyo chose was to address an issue with acoustics. Because this replacement gear is made from a much strong, non-flexible material, it does not dampen sound and a result, you may notice that it is 'louder' than the original. This "gear-noise" can be reduced by using various compatible lubricants, however, it will not be completely silent. It is the nature of the design of this turntable. The actual color of the gear may vary due to filament available at time of order. The color in no way affects the quality or operation of the gear. Limited 90 Day Parts/Labor WarrantyThe Speaker Port will provide a limited 90-day warranty for this item against component failure. This is a repair/replace warranty only; it does not allow for the return of the item(s) for a refund for any reason. In addition, as this is a plastic part and can very easily be damaged due to improper use, we do not warranty against broken or worn teeth on either side of the gear.
