Description: This fly was designed by Rich McElligott. There’s a video of him tying it at a Kentucky fishing show on YouTube. It’s distributed by Rainy’s Premium Flies as Rich’s Ultimate Worm. I saw one criticism of the fly that made me see if I could improve it. It gets wet and it's more difficult to cast. My design has two advantages:Rich's design uses 15 inches of chenille. My design uses 10 Inches. That makes the bait lighter when it gets soaked with water.I can put a tail on the worm. Chartreuse is a common Senko tail, but I can use other colors. I tie, fish, and sell both.Rich's style is more durable and has better action in the water.My style is lighter to cast and can have a splash of tail.I prefer Rich's style, but I use a 12 foot Tenkara rod.If you use a real light fly rod or short light Tenkara rod these baits could be the one's for you They are on a #2 Extra Wide Gap offset worm hook. They're weighted slightly to get them down faster. They are tied weedless. The worm slides down when the fish strikes to expose the hook. Then it can be pushed back up in weedless mode. The same principle as the Senko Worm. This fly gives the Fly rod or Tenkara Rod fisherman the ability to use one of the most popular bass Lures. Although I have no experience with it, it’s reportedly also good for trout. You get 4 of these in 2 colors, Green with 1 chartreuse tail and 1 yellow tail, Red with 1 yellow tail (Watermelon) and 1 chartreuse tail.
