Lim was a San Francisco Chinatown businessman, Chinatown store owner, and a pillar of the Chinatown community. He was on the Board of Directors of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce for many years, and on the Board of several Chinatown charities meant to better the lives of the people of Chinatown.
