Object: This auction is for a lot of 3 beautiful vintage Heath Ceramics 5.5" "Opal Blue" saucers that are somewhat like berry bowls with the shallow recessed centers. Could serve as bread-and-butter plates or even cup saucers as shown, for an example only, in the last photo (the cup is not included in this auction). Heath Opal Blue pieces are glossy and speckled with a deep blue inside and an ivory rim and underside. This is a vintage discontinued pattern from the 1980s. Photos cannot do justice to this set. The rim line styling and rich colors are classic Edith Heath. Artist/Studio: Edith Heath (1911-2005) founded Heath Ceramics in 1948 in Sausalito, California. They are most popular for their mid-century tableware and distinctively substantial stoneware pottery shapes, molds, and rich glazes. Source: Online research Origin: Sausalito, California, USA Year: 1988, vintage Signed: Grey printed mark on the bottom of each reads, "Heath, Made in U.S.A." Pattern: Opal Blue, Rim Line shape Color: The overall speckled glazes are dark blue inside with ivory rims and underside; dark brown stoneware bodies. The blue is brighter than photos show. Material: Stoneware ceramic pottery Surface: Smooth; glossy inside and out; visually speckled; unglazed foot rims Technique: Molded; factory produced Features: Distinctive Edith Heath rim line styling; recessed centers; wide rims; marked, recessed bases; speckled overall. Any other irregularities in glaze, shape or color, any fleabites, etc. would be from the manufacturing process and not damage of any kind. Most of our items are estate finds and are in good to excellent used condition. Vintage, pre-owned items will not usually be in mint condition, but may show signs of age, use, or wear from being pre-owned and loved for many years. We try to describe any and all condition issues but may miss some. A defect not noted does not constitute an item "not as described." Measurements: Each piece measures 5 1/2" in diameter across the top with a 4" diameter recessed center and stands about 3/4" high. Weight before Packaging: All 3 pieces together weigh 1 pound, 4 ounces. No Returns: Winner accepts item description/condition as stated, that all sales are final, and that items are sold "as found" and "as is," with no returns. Please note, we do our best to qualify, research, describe, and photograph all aspects of our listings, but we are not experts in this field. Be sure to check photos carefully and ask any questions before bidding to assure your satisfaction with the item/s.
