32x79" Antique Vintage Old Victorian Eastlake Wood Exterior Door Window NO GLASS

Description: Penn Antique Restoration 32"x78" Antique Victorian Eastlake Entry Door Single Window NO GLASS w/Decorative Molding & 3 Panels Gorgeous, antique, exterior door salvaged from an old, home in Northeastern PA. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine. The door is painted on both sides. The paint is worn and peeling off on both sides. This allows for an easier time sanding and/or stripping. When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. The door has a single window without any glass. There are 3 raised, reeded panels below the glass. The door has decorative, "spool" molding around each panel and the window on the exterior side (see 4th photo). Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store). * If you would like the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Quirks & Considerations: The door has a 1/8" gap (see the 5th photo). This is not a serious issue and the door can still be installed and used for decades without the gaps widening. However, we could close the gap using clamps and reinforce/secure the corners using modern glue and some dowels (wooden joints)--message us for a quote. Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no rot, warp, or any other serious issues. The door has a few small cracks (see last photo). Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks." Swing: The hinge mortises span the thickness of the door, allowing you to define its swing and install your hinges on either side. Modification: We could also modify the door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
