Description: I'm pleased to offer this "Magnificent" ANTIQUE Japanese Triptych BLOCK PRINT. It measures 31-1/2" long X 17-5/8" tall X 7/8" thick overall, in its frame. The exposed area of the artwork itself measures 27" long X 13" high. Beautifully custom framed UNDER GLASS are (3) separate block prints each measuring 8-1/2" to 9-1/2" wide X 13" tall. The three individual paper prints are integrally joined together creating a "unique" WIDE INTERIOR SCENE (see images).Seven elaborately dressed Geisha girls are depicted enjoying friendly conversations, a board game and tea (see images).Various intricate Oriental character artist marks appear on the upper and lower right (see images). Originally framed in the early 1900's this block print triptych was subsequently re-framed under glass by a previous owner who appreciated the obvious quality and value of the artwork. A heavy solid wood frame finished in dark blue fabric with a narrow gold tone trim accent was selected for the modern re-framing (see images).The original framer's label however was retained and affixed to the cardboard backing (see image).That ancient paper label reads as follows: estd 1902 / WAH CHEONG / Artistic Picture Frame Maker / 7-13 Wellington St. / Wing Ting Bldg. / Tel. 231900, 241271 / Store Room Tel. 233236 / HONG KONG (see image).
