Description: This unique hard-to-find planter is a beautiful example of early 20th century art pottery. Handmade by Harold Horine of Como Craft Pottery from Hollister, Missouri, the American Ozark region. This pot features his classic form covered with a bright Multi-color drip design that is both abstract, and eye-catching. Three "slots" or holes are intended to be used as a "strawberry pot" A strawberry pot is a container with openings around the sides for growing strawberry plants and their runners. They are also known as strawberry jars or strawberry planters. The planter is made of plaster cement, a process he received a patent for in 1933, and was suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Measuring 5.25 inches in height and 7 inches in width, this original piece is an early example of Harold Horine's Ozark Roadside Tourist Pottery product line before he headed west to Phenix. I've included a pic of Harold Horine from the 1943 National Geographic Magazine article, "Ozarks, Land of a Million Smiles", decorating one of his famous pots. This planter is highly collectable and perfect for decorative purposes and will add a touch of vintage artistic charm to any space. This colorful planter is in great condition for its age. No scratches, or chips. The interior does show minimal signs of use consistent with its age but the exterior is bright and undamaged. In fantastic vintage condition! Please thoroughly look through photos prior to making your purchase Every effort is made to disclose condition via photos, please see images and request any additional images you may need. Vintage and Antique items are old and used so they may show wear and/or manufacturers imperfections. These items are sold in as-is condition. Items have often been used for many years and can have normal signs of aging or handling, and gilt can have signs of slight disintegration even if never handled. I will reflect any damages, repairs, obvious stress marks, crazing or heavy wear in the item description but some minor scratches, nicks, stains and gilt disintegration can be normal for vintage items and need to be taken into account. Please check out my other listings for more fun collectibles.
