Description: Up for sale is a wonderful vintage lot of three original Maurice Heaton fused art glass bowl/dishes.They're done with an elaborate cobalt floral style in a circular form and has great color fused in relief.The bowl has a wavy edge and the lot comes with two small dishes.They are in great condition and the bowl measures 11 1/4" diameter..Each small dish measures 4 inches in diameter. Maurice Heaton grew up with two generations of English glass artists and began experimenting with flat and molded type glass as early as 1930. He invented a process in 1947 for firing and shaping his glassware in the studio furnace, which started the ball rolling for the studio glass movement of the 1960s. Heaton's work spans seven decades, and through his unique range of murals, window hangings, lighting fixtures and tableware, he is considered by many a "true original" and has glass in reputable museums like the Smithsonian.
