These postcards are ANTIQUE from the early 1900s. These are NOVELTY postcards because they have SILK thread in the picture design. This type of texture was not used too often, because it was an extra step and it cost more to manufacture. These are postcards that will keep their value. These are Novelty GREETINGS postcards that were to be sent out for friendship and "Best Wishes". There is one postcard with a gold trim vase with red flowers and green leaves. The red flowers are silk thread. Another postcard shows a large pink rose on top and below is a purple and white flower that seems to have AIR BRUSHED colors on it. Both of these flowers are silk thread. The last postcard looks like a photograph, and the red and pink flowers on top have silk thread. These are colorful and interesting antique Novelty postcards that capture the classic look used back in the early 1900s. Overall, this is a nice selection of antique novelty postcards that are attractively designed! These are collector items because of their age and how they were made. Silk postcards are not often seen, and to find them in a group like this is appealing to collectors. The postcards are UNPOSTED (1) and POSTED (2) with cancel dates of 1907 and 1909. Two of the postcards were "Printed In Austria" and the photo looking postcard seems to have been printed in London. These were published during the "Golden Age of Postcards" (1908-1915). They are EMBOSSED and have divided backs. They are from different publishers. These are BETTER POSTCARDS and are good for a collector or dealer. They will keep their value. Often these postcards are sold as individual items for many dollars each. They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some creases, stains and edge wear due to their age.
