Description: Lot of 3, RARE - Franklin Mint Bicentennial 1976 $2 Two Dollar Bill First Day Of Issue w/stamp. Postmark date Apr. 15, 1976. NOT the usual Apr. 13, 1976. Bills has no creases. The serial numbers on the 3 bills are in numeric sequential order. Two Bills have the stamp on the back, one bill has the stamp on the front. Back in the day one could take your $2.00 Bill (I went to the bank to get new crisp bills), Buy a postage stamp, Place the stamp on the $2.00 bill and the postman would cancel the attached stamp for a commemorative Bicentennial First day of Issue. It was a big thing back in the day. Well, I missed the one day people were to take these to the post office on Apr. 13, 1976 for the Bicentennial First Day of Issue, so I went on Apr. 15, 1976. I was told it was for the one day only Apr. 13, 1976 but he would stamp them for Apr. 15, 1976 anyway. I believe you will find many dated Apr. 13, 1976 but very few dated Apr, 15, 1976. Postmark from United States Post Office, Jackson Center, PA 16133 as shown on bill. Any questions welcome. Thank you for looking.
