This has several benefits. With a mulching kit it is recommended that the operator only cut off a 1/3 of the grass at a time. Since the Gator blade disperses clippings out the side, it had handle thicker and heavier grass.3 The Gator blade is wider and in some cases thicker than the standard blade.
