Russian 6N2P, 6N2P-EV (6H2П, 6H2П-EB) are electrically identical with 12AX7 or ECC83 tubes, only heating is different. 12AX7 / ECC83 have two possibility to be heated. 12.6V - heating voltage is connected to pin 4 and 5. (filaments are connected in series) 6.3V - pin 4 and 5 is connected together heating voltage is connected to pins 4,5 and pin 9. (filaments are connected parallel) This connection method is more common because other tubes, mainly output tubes as 6L6, 6V6, EL34, EL84 etc have only 6.3 V heating.How to check heating voltage: Remove the tube from socket, switch amplifier on, measure (or test with lamp see attached picture) voltage between pin 4 and 5 at AC also DC range. IF THERE IS NO VOLTAGE so heating is 6,3 V. (these pins are connected together if heating is 6,3V) If there is 12,6 V AC or DC so can't use adapter. Attention!
