Up for sale in this listing is this lovely Folio Society edition, complete with original slipcase of The Magic Mountain, by Thomas Mann, featuring illustrations by Leonard Rosoman and an introduction by Michael Wood. This edition was released by The Folio Society in 2000. It is now out-of-print, highly sought after, and fetches big bucks from rare and antiquarian book dealers. I am the original owner of this copy which I purchased directly from the Folio Society some 20 odd years ago. Upon receipt, I perused it VERY briefly and VERY gently, but I have never used it for reading, having obtained a paperback copy for that purpose, so the books itself is essentially new and the binding should be very tight. While preparing this listing, I looked over the exterior carefully for any imperfections, and all I was able to detect was some very minor, age-related wear to the slipcase that you can see in the photos. Please look over the photos carefully so you’ll have a good understanding of the book’s condition. All in all, however, the book is in extremely nice condition and presents very well, and as I previously mentioned, it has never really been cracked open, so it should still have very tight binding and feel like it’s brand new when you first open it.
