The Reckoner 110 is an ideal ski for skiers with a creative mindset with big mountain missions and aspirations in mind.Why we like it:Although having a soft longitudinal flex pattern the Reckoner 110 has a good deal of torsional stiffness which creates a wonderful balance between forgiveness and playfulness while still having some power and stability built into it.Who it's for:Advanced to expert freestyle skiers who want to take their skillset into the backcountry and big mountain format.Highlights:An aspen wood core provides a supple flex pattern for an incredible surfy and playful feel in deep snow. K2’s Spectral Braid fine-tunes the flex of the skis in specific areas to provide stiffness or suppleness in areas where it is most needed. The forebody and aft sections of the skis have a bit more stiffness for vibration damping and stability on landings while the underfoot zone has more torsional stiffness for edge grip on wind-blown firm snow. Triaxial Braided Core wraps around the core to boost energy and pop while also adding overall stiffness to the ski. Carbon Boost uses longitudinal carbon stringers woven into K2’s patented Triaxial Braid for pop and rebound. TwinTech Sidewalls are durable, full sidewalls that provide edge grip as well as protection against ski-to-ski impact damage. Bio-Resin adhesives used to hold the ski together is a green approach to construction to lessen the footprint of production.Things to consider:The Reckoner 110 has an almost symmetrical shape and rocker profile which will likely be tough for more directional skiers to grasp in deep snow. The more central mountpoint will also make directional skiers feel a bit over the front of the skis. Both of these attributes play into a freestyle skiers style of skiing more centrally over the ski. Even with moving the mount point back, the symmetrical shape will still have directional skier feel unfamiliar.
