These are all # 1 grade, natural morels. We pick all of our mushrooms in the mountains surrounding our valley. Handling them with care, not to damage the morel. PLEASE NOTE: the one picture is from my newest mushroom puppy Molly. She is my good luck charm. NOTE: These are not a BURN MOREL that grows in vast amount after a wildfire or controlled burn. The difference in a forest natural morel and a burn morel is that a forest morel is a DOUBLE WALL, and a burn mushroom is a single wall. A very different taste as well. This would be about 8 pound of fresh mushrooms before we dried them. We always weigh our mushrooms before packaging, and add a little extra to make sure you get what you pay for. Our mushrooms are put on the drier the same day as picked to lock in the freshness. The pictures of the drying screen shows them placed on the scree fresh, and the one is after they are dried. And the one is showing mushrooms vacuum sealed. To rehydrate these morels, I like to put them in a bowl with warm water or milk for 30 to 40 minutes, dry them off on a paper towel or use a salad spinner to get off the excess water. Then they are ready for you to use how ever you want. I personally like to take my Morels and fry them in butter, with a touch of garlic and pepper. Let them simmer at a low temperature with a lid on the pat till cooked. Great with a steak dinner or meat type of dish. WE VACUUM SEAL ALL OUR DRIED PRODUCTS, to seal in the freshness. NO ZIPLOCK BAGS HERE. Size of mushroom will very , as they are field run, from small to large. Some times during shipping the bag might get a small hole and note be complete sealed.
