Description: 2023 SARRACENIA SEEDS: (LEUCOPHYLLA PURPLE LIPS X FLAVA ORNATA) X WACCAMAW [CARNIVOROUS PLANT SEED] Code: 31: 23HF11 This listing includes: One pack of approximately 30 Sarracenia seeds from the following cross: Mother (pod) plant: S. leucophylla purple lips x flava ornata A sibling to Saurus. Gets really tall and produces copious pitchers. Spring pitchers are ornate. Fall pitchers are dark and extremely attractive. A great breeder plant. Father (pollen) plant: S. flava ‘Waccamaw’ One of the best flava cultivars. It is an atropurpurea that turns cherry red in full sun. The red brilliantly contracts with the yellow color on the lip and mouth, which darken up later in the season. A very attractive plant. 1st picture shows the two parent plants. 2nd picture shows the mother (pod) parent. 3rd picture shows the father (pollen) parent. 4th picture shows an example of the seeds you will get (not the quantity). 5th picture shows an example of how I bag my Sarracenia flowers in the spring. This cross was made in the Spring of 2023 and the seeds were harvested when ripe later in the same year. The cross was done carefully by hand. All manual crosses had bagged flowers to avoid any unwanted pollen contamination by nature. After harvest and drying, the seeds have been stored dry in the fridge to maximize longevity and viability. These seeds have NOT been stratified. You will need to do that yourself.
