Description: 2022 woodcut of Carn Llidi, the iconic hilly outcrop a few miles from St David's in Pembrokeshire. The ancient rocky outcrop has mag nificent views from its peak to Ramsey Island ,St Brides bay and inland.I have sat on the summit above the cloud layer .An unworldly experience.Since the early 1950's I have climbed to the top as a sort of holiday ritual..This is 8"x5" ,signed and dated ,and a woodcut pressed by hand on to paper creating a semi realistic image of the place in black acrylic. It aimed to be somewhat mysterious! By Bill Payne born in 1951 and gallery and museum artist living in Worcestershire.During WW1, a hydrophone station on the lower slope listened in to German submarines rounding the coast.Only the base remains.Signed and dated. One of a kind ,as it would be difficult to repeat accurately. Unframed but would look great in a cream mount with black frame .1 sold
