This matching set were certified #453 of 649 sets graded by ICG. 1. 2006-S, $1.00 ICG - MS70, First Day of Issue 2. 2006-S, $1.00 ICG - PR70 DCAM, First Day of Issue This Silver $1.00 Commemorative Coin, was struck in 90% silver, it honors the San Francisco Old Mint and its role in helping the city survive the earthquake and fire of 1906. Struck in accordance with legislation passed by Congress and signed by the President on June 15, 2006, as Public Law 109-230. This coin was produced by the Department of the Treasury, United States Mint to commemorate the 100th Anniversary survival of the San Francisco Old Mint building in the great earthquake and fire of 1906 and its role in the rebuilding of San Francisco. Coin Designs The obverse (heads side) design of the 2006 San Francisco Old Mint Silver Dollar features an image of the San Francisco Old Mint building based on the obverse of the San Francisco Mint medal. The design, by Sherl J. Winter, features a three-quarter perspective and includes the original twin brick chimneys. The reverse (tails) design is a replica of the 1878 Morgan Silver Dollar Eagle Reverse, designed by George T. Morgan. Its one-year-only design features the historic Old Mint on the obverse, along with its nickname, "THE GRANITE LADY". And its reverse proudly replicates the Eagle reverse of the Morgan silver dollar that circulated in 1906.
