Description: 2004 Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop Historic 1959 '59 Reissue One-Off From the 2006 Gibson Custom Shop "ROADWORN" charity auction, 2004 Les Paul Historic 1959 R9 Custom Shop Faded Cherry Sunburst Reissue #9 42xx. A number of unique and one-off guitars were sold to employees and a handful of VIP clientele and all hot branded "ROADWORN" on the back of the headstocks. This guitar is said to be an "Artist Special" (loaner/demo guitar for recording artists) or prototype of some sort and was purchased with light playwear consistent with demo use. Guitar has been built out with JP #1 Signature Model hardware and electronics, with the exception of the tuners being correct vintage Grover USA originals (installed post-purchase). Neck has the standard R9 reissue profile with low-wide Plek'd frets. Pot codes are all mid-2003. Weighs in at 8.8lbs (Grovers add 0.3lbs over standard Klusons). Guitar has some dents and dings from normal use, primarily around the rear bottom edge where it would be set down between use. Has a fresh setup with Nickel round wound 10 gauge strings. This guitar plays and sounds exceptionally good, sort of in a league of its own.
