Sprocket, 48t Rear Sprocket This kit is provided with all 520 size chain and sprocket components For QUICK Acceleration gear ratio (off the line, roll on's, wheelies), use a 15t front sprocket with a 48t rear sprocket. (the -1t front sprocket change is very versatile because you can change back to the stock size 16t with same chain) (41t-47t size black steel rear sprockets will come in the JT brand, not SuperSprox) For FASTER TOP SPEED, and LOWER HIGHWAY CRUISING RPM's, use a 45t or 47t rear sprocket (45t-47t are in JT Black Steel only) . The -1t rear sprocket is a mild change. This ratio change will be slightly slower off the line, but slightly faster top speed with slightly lower top gear cruising RPM's. The -3t rear sprocket will be significantly lower top gear cruising rpm's, and higher top speed, but slower off the line. Original Factory Supplied OEM size sprockets are the calculated "Happy Medium" of off the line acceleration, roll on's, and high speed engine rpm's with the least amount of compromise on either top end or low end acceleration. (default for this kit is 16/48t) If you just want a lighter easier turning final drive components kit, but are useing your entire gear box ratio as it is from Yamaha, then request OEM 16/48t sprocket sizes. Teeth and Sizes Explained...** A -1t front sprocket change is EXACTLY the same ratio change as +3t rear sprocket change.** A {-1t front and -1 rear sprocket change} is EXACTLY the same ratio change as {+2t rear sprocket only change without changing Ft. size}.** A -2t front sprocket change is EXACTLY the same ratio change as +6t rear sprocket change (NOT recommended , Very Extreme change) ** A 520 size chain is approx. 2mm narrower than a 525 chain, and 4mm narrower than a 530 chain. Less mass equals lighter weight equals easier to spin, but the ratio (teeth size) change makes the big difference. The sprocket width matches the chain width where it rides on the sprockets, thus a 520 chain must use 520 sprockets, and a 525 chain must use 525 sprockets, etc...** RPE Motorcycle has chain and sprocket conversion kits available in 520 , 525 , and 530 sizes for most motorcycles.** A larger rear sprocket number of teeth size requires a longer chain, however +1 or -1 tooth on the front sprocket only requires NO chain length change..
