You are bidding on about 20 GOLDEN SOUTHERN CATALPA SEEDS - Catalpa bignoniaceae 'Aurea' .( see my other catalpa species listed )'Aurea' is a spreading medium-sized deciduous tree with large ovate golden-yellow leaves becoming light yellow-green in summer . Leaves start out dark green , becoming more chartreuse then changing to bright yellow as the season progresses . The glowing effect of the bright yellow leaves in full sun can be quite striking . Reaches 20' in height by 15" wide in 10 years In late summer there are bell-shaped, white flowers marked orange and purple, in upright panicles. These are followed by slender bean-like seed capsules. Hardiness Zones : 5 - 9. Flowering season : Mid-to-late June in New England; earlier further south Medicinal use : None known Other uses : Wood - soft, not strong, light, coarse-grained, very durable in the soil. It weighs 26lb per cubic foot.
