Description: 2 Vintage Children's Toy China Red Cliff Ironstone Pitcher's with Wash Basin's Pearlware Sweet Childrens Toy Pitcher & Wash Basin by Red Cliff Pottery Company. Red Cliff was located Chicago IL. In business 1950 to 1980, was a decorating and distributing company which decorated beautiful Ironstone pieces patterned after the old patterns and shapes.When I first purchased this piece at an estate sale I was intrigued at the old style look and pooling of the bluish glaze at the bottom of the pitcher and the center of the basin as it reminded me of the English Pearlware first produced by English Potters and made famous by Josiah Wedgwood in late 1700s.Only to discover that yes indeed the old wares being reproduced today but clearly marked so not to deceive anyone. Author, Annise Heaivilin of Grandma's Tea Leaf states that with the short period of Red Cliff production, it is becoming scarce.During the 1950-1960s, Hall China Company made wares for Fred Clifford owner of Red Cliff. Clifford had purchased the original English Tea Leaf to use as an example. Red Cliff had many patterns of old ironstone china.Both sets are sweet examples.Wash Basin measures 4 3/4" wide x 1 1/4" tall.Pitcher measures 3 1/8" tall x 2 7/8" handle to spout.The all white Ironstone: Pitcher measures 3 5/8" tall to top of the handle x 2 7/8" wide spout to handle.Basin measures 4 5/8" wide x 1" tall. There is no damage or factory flaws. Rather nice quality compared to other children's toy china. See all photos.Stands are not included, for photographing purposes only. A word about ALL Children's Toy China: It was not always made with high quality controls. These were "play things" for children.You may find some mold lines and some roughness on the edges of pieces from the molding process as is typical. Some Companies quality control production was higher than others.Chips & cracks are a different story & will be addressed as damage.
