Description: Recent rural Virginia estate find. Offering a vintage pair of dark amber oil lamps by Clevenger Brothers in the Comet or Horn of Plenty pattern. Amber base color is best describer more so as "root beer" with just a touch of red tint in the bases. The fonts are three part molds evident with faint vertical mold lines. Very hard to find in this color with the matching bases. Overall, excellent condition, but both have roughness, slight flakes or very shallow chips at the base (see last five photos). Possibly original when these lamps' bases were ground as it is consistent on both lamps and the only place where you see these slight inclusions. Other than these, no other chips or cracks and only displays extremely light to no evidence of use. No haziness. A stunning pair and displays amazingly well.
