She had lived in Manassas, Williamsburg and Norfolk, Va. and Baltimore, Md. before moving to Hendersonville.She was a graduate of Syracuse University with a Fine Arts Degree and had been self-employed as a professional artist. She painted from a wide background in figure and portrait as well as landscapes executed with a love of nature, people and animals. For many years she painted and exhibited from her studio Gallery in Manassas, and was widely known in this area as well as the Tidewater area of Virginia. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Unitarian Church of Norfolk, Old Dominion College, the College of William and Mary and many private collections in the United States and Europe. National Awards and Shows include: Four Arts Award, Palm Beach, Fla.; James P. Sadler Award, Virginia Beach, Va. and the Graphics Award, Fredericksburg, Va. Regional Museum Shows include: Piedmont Graphics, Mint Museum, Charlotte; Tidewater Artists’ Show, Norfolk, Va.; Southern Contemporary Art, Atlanta, Ga. and Tidewater 12 – Invitational Show, Columbia.
