2 Artmark Originals Lovely Figurines w/Arnart BONUS See Pics Description 1 Price

Description: This sale is really for 3 figurines, but 1 is a bonus. I hesitate to sell anything with much crazing or imperfections so I decided to sell 2 and include the bonus figurine since I know people still buy them. Crazing is interesting. Mostly it’s not visibly noticeable unless you expand a picture, then boom! LOL. So yes, there is some crazing on all 3. These 3 ladies are quite lovely, measuring approximately 5x4”. They are very detailed and radiate with charm. The twins (identical) wear lovely gowns, one green, one yellow, with gold trim, spaghetti, and roses. Their bowler hat is also trimmed with spaghetti and a rose. What is striking is their unmistakable eyebrows. With eyes closed, these ladies have praying hands and one can only wonder. Then there’s the bonus, an Arnart Cherchez la Femme figurine #7616. She is measuring the same, approximately 5x4”, and is rare to find. She wears a pink gown and bonnet, both with gold trim and roses. Her white gloves with gold trim are quite elegant. Her eyebrows are similar to her friends, but not as pronounced. Etched on the bottom is Cherchez la Femme and stamped with 7616. There is no longer an Arnart tag. Unsure of the dates of these figurines. They look very similar to Josef Originals, but they are not. Here’s a little history. By the mid-1950s, imitation Josef Originals began to appear in the US from Japan. The JO response was to create even finer quality ceramic, but the costs were not sustainable. Eventually they moved production from California to Japan and trained the workers personally ensuring the JO integrity. Are these figurines JO imitations from the 50s? We may never know. Regardless the mystery certainly adds to their romantic charm. Please note. These figurines are vintage hand painted items and may have crazing, fading, or production flaws. In addition, I will report any scratches, chips, or repair. Please review the description and pictures with care. I am happy to send additional ones if needed. Ignore the lighting glare in the pics. I work hard to describe what I see. All sizes are approximate. I do not clean the figurines as I do not wish to damage these treasures, so I leave that up to you. Packaged for safekeeping.
