Telemachus in Greek mythology, is the son of Odysseus and Penelope, who is a central character in Homer's Odyssey. When Telemachus reached manhood, he visited Pylos and Sparta in search of his wandering father. On his return to Ithaca, he found that Odysseus had reached home before him from the Trojan war. This attractive print was published in a book by François de Salignac de la Mothe-Fenelon (French, more commonly known as François Fenelon (6 August 1651 – 7 January 1715), was a French Catholic archbishop, theologian, poet and writer. Today, he is remembered mostly as the author of The Adventures of Telemachus, first published in 1699. This Dutch edition "De gevallen van Telemachus zoone van Ulysses" was published in 1715. Made by 'Jacob Folkema' after an anonymous artist. Jacob Folkema (1692-1767) was a Dutch engraver (printmaker), draftsman, reproduction engraver. Condition: Good, given age. Pinholes upper margin.
