Description: 1st UK edition 1st printing Tales Of The Tenements by Eden Phillpotts! 1910. Here is a book I listed as “good” as it’s condition but it is better than that. This is Tales Of The Tenements by British author Eden Phillpotts. This is a first UK edition first printing published by John Murray in 1910. The binding on this 112 year old collection of short stories is still pretty strong. The red cloth boards are clean in comparison and the gold gilt lettering on the cloth spine is still quite bright as shown. The reasons I listed this copy as “good” only is the amount of foxing to many of the pages the worst of which I tried to show in the photos provided. There is foxing to all three page blocks as well and a lean to the spine. The book comes in an acetate protector which can easily be removed should you wish to. A nice little collection of life stories in the tenements of English towns and cities at the early part of the last century.
