1st Printing Vintage Mass Paerback Last Exit To Brooklyn by Hubert Selby Jr.!!

Description: Here is a beautiful collectible copy of Hubert Selby, Jr.’s masterpiece. This is Last Exit To Brooklyn and is a stated first vintage mass paperback edition published by Grove Press in 1965. If you’re a regular to my listings then by now you know all about vintage paperbacks. But for newcomers ( and I hope there are many! ) I will continue to expound on the vintage paperback. These editions were not meant to be kept on r have a long life. They were usually produced with less than adequate paper and glue for the bindings. Essentially they were meant to be read, maybe finished, and then tossed. Many were left on commuter trains and city buses. Thanks goodness there are book lovers out there who see them for what they are. Treasures. Most of my listings are between sixty and seventy years old and have been preserved in archival plastic bags made for just this reason. Last Exit To Brooklyn was an underground classic for years but now has become recognized for the brilliance of the narrative and many more people are aware of Selby. This copy is in excellent condition. I gently removed it from its protector to photograph it and then immediately replaced it. Collectors of vintage paperbacks know that they are treasured for the artwork and designs and meant to be displayed for all to thoroughly appreciate.
