Description: 1st edition 1st printing American Places by Wallace Stegner & Page Stegner! Nice. Here is a very beautiful book by Wallace Stegner and his son Page called American Places. This is an oversized beauty and is a first edition first printing as shown on the copyright page. This was published by E.P. Dutton in 1981 and filled with the amazing color photography of award-winning photographer Elliot Porter. The binding is square and tight and immaculate throughout. The heavy oatmeal colored cloth boards are spotless and the gold gilt lettering on the spine is bright and beautiful as shown. The rear board has a “pull” to the cloth which can be easily seen in the photos. The dust jacket has been price clipped and the title on the spine has slightly faded but other than that this jacket has little wear. There is very light foxing to the reverse of the two flaps and lightly to the endpapers. This copy will make a wonderful addition to any Wallace Stegner or Eliot Porter collection or library.
