Description: Hand-coloured Geological Survey of England and Wales Sheet 101 NW, covering the Maryport, Dearham,and Allonby Bay areas, on the west coast of the Lake District, on a scale of One Inch to One Statute Mile. The map was geologically surveyed by W.T. Aveline, R. Russell and T.V. Holmes, thereafter published in 1892 by the famous geologist Sir Archibald Geikie (Director General). The map is printed on thick parchment type paper and measures approximately 45cm by 31cm with titles, notes and scale bar on the wide margins. The whole sheet measures approximately 59cm x 42cm and is in good condition (see photos). It is ideal for framing and would be of interest to local historians/collectors.
