Provenance: Property from a Private Park Ave. Collection The painting featuring a classical scene of arranged items such as a large bowl of fresh peach. Clumps of green and red grapes. Tea cups, water jugs and various other table wares on a contoured French marble mantle. Done in somewhat of a classical yet naïve style, and overall quite charming in its execution. The painting is clearly signed in the lower left corner, which appears to read A. Desponet. A known French surname yet we are unable to identify the artist. Our guess is it was a regional artist of the 19th century in France. Just a small charming honest antique still life painting Remnants of an original old paper label on the reverse with partial inscription but not revealing enough for any further information. Oil on canvas onto wood panel Condition: the painting could use a cleaning. Probably never cleaned and in original condition.
