Description: For sale is a wonderful and quaint late 19th century French Barbizon style watercolor painting. The painting features a charming French cotttage tucked back into a landscape with a gentle meandering stream reflecting the intense gold yellows and pinks of the evening setting sun lighting up the sky above. The painting is signed in what looks like H Moreux. But we are not 100% certain. Please see close-up detailed pictures of the signature for your consideration. The framing is not original as the frame is an American Eastlake style frame. At some point, the painting and the frame or married together, but that was probably the early 20th century. Just a charming little watercolor to view on your wall for those who love French barbizon, and tonalist style landscape paintings Condition: Overall good. The gold matting with a breakage seam (see pic) The period Eastlake frame in fine condition for age with only age appropriate wear. Measurements Framed - 14 1/4" x 16 1/4" W/C - 7" x 9 5/8"
