Authored by Derek E. Ostergard and featuring the work of George Nakashima who showed his furniture and often appeared in the Virginia boutique furniture store, Full Circle. NICELY SIGNED AND DATED (October 1989) BY GEORGE NAKASHIMA. The autograph has not been authenticated but is consistent with others easily found online. ALSO PROVIDING PROVENANCE IS THE SIGNATURE AND LETTERHEAD NOTES BY OWNER AND FOUND OF THE FULL CIRCLE SHOP IN ALEXANDRIA, VA, MARJORIE HEMMENDINGER. On Marjorie Hemmendinger from the internet on an internet site on the neighborhood in Alexandria where Full Circle is located, Hollin Hills: "Marjorie Hemmendinger — economist, gallery owner, and beloved Marthas Road resident for more than six decades — passes away on June 30, at age 97. Marjorie worked as an economist in the Executive Office of the President, and later at the World Bank and the State Department. After she and her husband Noel moved to Hollin Hills in 1953, she founded the Full Circle Gallery in Old Town Alexandria, showing the work of woodworker George Nakashima and other artists." Found in the book and stored in a separate sleeve are two letterhead notes from Full Circle, one a brief note on the signing of this book by George Nakashima and other a timeline of Japanese periods (of art? furniture design? not sure). The book is in VERY GOOD OR BETTER CONDITION, with the only wear issues associated with the dust jacket. It has edge wear and some small tears. It is now handsomely portrayed in a mylar jacket. Clean red cloth boards with unrubbed gilt spine titling, little to no board edge and corner wear, but faint bumping of corners. No further interior marks in 192 clean and solidly bound pages.
