The program is lightly used. Please review the photos as they are part of the item description. The 1987 Champion Spark Plug 400 was held at Michigan International Speedway on August 16th. Leading the field to green was the Ford #28 of Davey Allison. Bill Elliott, in the Coors #9 Ford, would pass Dale Earnhardt with three laps to go to claim his fifth victory in the last six races at Michigan. Earnhardt would hold on to second, followed by Morgan Shepherd, Rusty Wallace, and Davey Allison. This would be the last race for Tim Richmond. Just two weeks later, Hendrick Motorsports would have a news conference stating that Richmond had a nagging cold and would not be able to defend his title at the Southern 500.
