Description: Note: Please study the images carefully to determine the condition of this vintage photograph, as it may not be in perfect condition. It may contain wrinkles, cracks, and possibly even tears due to its age and how it was handled before it got to us. A scanner may interpret colors and contrast differently than human eyes will, so it is possible that the actual photograph may be slightly darker or lighter in person. Sohio Petroleum Company's East Breaks Blocks 165 deepwater drilling and production platform continues to take shape at McDermott Marine Contruction's Fabrication Division yard at Morgan City, Louisiana. This recent lift of one 880-foot-long entire side, or framing row, of the eight-leg platform jacket required a total of 33 cranes. It took six hours for the multiple walking cranes to complete the 3,800-ton job, the largest such lift ever performed, acording to McDermott and American Hoist & Derrick Company. When completed for barge load-out in the summer of 1986, the platform jacket with pre-installed conductors and skirt piles will weigh 23,000 tons. McDermott will use its Intermac 650 launch barge to transport and install the 40-well platform jacket in one piece in 860 feet of water in East Breaks Blocks 165, about 100 miles south of Galveston, Texas. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 01-25-1986. PHOTO FRONT PHOTO BACK Historic Images Part Number: noc63619 Sell Smarter with Kyozou.Inventory and Ecommerce Management
