Description: 1983 Fender Precision Bass American 1957 Reissue The serial number is "V009411", the neck is dated "8-20-82" and one of the pickups has a 1983 date code. The body is in good condition overall, but has a lot of small dings, scratches, and scuffs. Nothing out of the ordinary for a vintage guitar and there are no cracks or structural issues.The neck is straight and the frets show average wear. It's in excellent playing condition and has no major issues. The fretboard is clean and the back of the neck has some wear and finish loss, but no major dings or gouges. The headstock has small nicks around the edges but no cracks, repairs or extra holes. The nut is 1.76" wide, the neck measures 0.82" thick at the 1st fret and 0.91" thick at the 12th fret.The hardware and electronics are in excellent working condition and the pickups measure Ω. The pickups and pots were changed out in the 80's but I put the original pickups back in. One pickup is a grey bobbin with a 1983 date code and one is a black bobbin and has no date code. Both are original to the guitar and this was common for Fender at the time. I didn't get the original pots but I installed another set from '82 which are 250K and have the same kind of capacitor, so it's now as close to original as possible.It comes in the original case which has a lot of wear on the outside. All of the latches, hinges and handle are in excellent working order and the interior has no bad odors. The bridge/pickup covers are missing and it does not have any paperwork or accessories.Actual weight is 8 lbs 0 oz.Please note that I do not set up my guitars before mailing. I have played it and everything is great as far as I'm concerned, but you may need to change the strings, adjust the action or do other maintenance to get it to your preferences.I list some of my items on both eBay and Reverb.
