In their first few months together, the group has de-veloped a sound all their own.The musicians got together and decided to record some of the musicthat brought them a successful summer. Many hours of work havebeen put into this album as you will hear after listening to just onesong. Each member displays a unique style which brought smiles andapplause from audiences throughout Virginia, Tennessee and NorthCarolina.Allen Russell, formerly of the BLUEGRASS HARMONY, plays guitarand sings lead and tenor.Alan Copenhaver, also a former member of the BLUEGRASSHARMONY, plays banjo and sings lead and baritone.Albert Blackburn, originally from Hampton, Tennessee now lives inMarion, Virginia and sings lead and plays bass with the band.Junior Clark adds some nice traditional sounds with his "Josh Graves"style dobro. Junior is also from Marion.Carl Russell's fiddle playing has won him numerous awards aroundthe bluegrass convention circuit. It is not unusual to walk into Carl'shome and see 1st place ribbons and trophies almost everywhere!THE SOUTHERN EXPRESS is honored to have Carl on their first album.Last, but not least by all means, is Roy Cale. Roy plays bass and hasa very wide background in various types of music. His bass workcompliments all the pickin' and singin'. Both Carl and Roy are fromMarion, Virginia.THE SOUTHERN EXPRESS would like to express their appreciation toall the people who made this album possible. For without each andeveryone it would not have been.Credits:ALLEN RUSSELL/Guitar and VocalsALAN COPENHAVER/Banjo and VocalsALBERT BLACKBURN/Bass and VocalswithCARL RUSSELL/FiddleJUNIOR CLARK/DobroROY CALE/Electric BassFor additional copies or bookings contact:Allen Russell143 Williams RoadMarion, VA 24354TANDEM RECORDING STUDIO13 MOORE STREETBRISTOL, VA 24201TWL-091 Thank you for your business.
