Description: This listing is for a Vintage 1983 or 1984 Fender "Dan Smith" 2 Knob Stratocaster. This guitar was made in the in the early 1980's in what is commonly referred to as the "Dan Smith" Fender era when Fender changed the design of the Stratocaster to have only 2 knobs along with a bunch of other design changes. These were only produced for a year or two before Fender went back to the original 3 knob design. This guitar is a great player and sounds great but is in player grade condition and does have a lot of changed parts and some modifications so please review the complete description. This guitar has been recently set up and plays great with low and comfortable action. All the electronics are changed and not original. The pickups are Dimarzio's and the pickguard and pots are also not original. Someone at one time installed a locking nut on the guitar and there are three filled screw holes in the neck. The bridge and tuners are original but I do not have the correct arm for the Fender "Free Flyte" tremolo as those arms are hard to come by. Cosmetically the guitar is in good condition. There are some dings and paint chips are the edges of the guitar as well as some light nicks, dings and scratched. There are also a few chips in the maple fretboard but do not affect the playability in anyway. The guitar comes with a gig bag and will be expertly packed for safe shipping. Please look at the pictures and message with questions. Thanks for looking,,
