1979 Honda CR

Description: 1979 Honda Elsinore CR250 This bike was bought from a vintage vet rider who raced it in a couple of races. Bike was dismantled down to the bare frame. Frame was inspected for any cracks or broken welds. There was none to be found. It was a nice dent free frame with nice bottom rails. It was painted with VMX red racing paint. The engine was fully rebuilt with new gaskets, and seals. Crank was rebuilt with a new connecting rod and balanced. Transmission gears all inspected. New clutch with a Elderfield clutch basket. Fresh cylinder and new Wiseco 71mm piston and rings. VForce 3 intake system, with a Sudco 36mm Mikuni carburetor. Twin Air filter system. Exhaust system is a new PFR cone style works exhaust system with a aluminum silencer. The engine is mounted to the frame with a Denton Engineering Billet aluminum head stay, and front mounts with titanium bolts. Chain is a 520 gold chain. Denton Engineering aluminum chain roller kit, and Denton Engineering rear chain guide. Carbon fiber front chain guard cover. The front forks are a set of updated 1989 Honda CR125 forks with Race Tech springs set up for a 220lb rider. They have Denton Engineering fork air caps. The lower fork leg has been modified from Denton Engineering to accept the DLS front brake. The triple clamps are Denton Engineering Billet aluminum clamps set up to make the 1989 CR125 forks work. Rear suspension has rebuilt Works shocks, connected to a KLP factory aluminum swing arm. Denton Engineering adjustable aluminum torque arm. All new VMX racing fenders, and side panels. Aluminum tank painted VMX racing red to match frame and plastics. Front number plate is a white VMX Graham Noyce replica. Seat has new foam with gripper black seat cover. Rims are nice restored original D.I.D .aluminum rims with Buchanan spokes wrapped with Dunlop MX33s. Renthal handle bars with new levers and quick adjust clutch perch. Other notable trick parts are: PFR wide foot pegs, hammerhead shifter, and a Denton Engineering Billet aluminum kick starter lever.
