Description: 1978 Gibson Les Paul custom. Surprisingly lightweight for the era (they can sometimes be absurdly heavy—not this one!. No cracks or breaks. It’s been refretted with bigger wire, which makes it a fabulous player. Original finish blacklights properly. Demo here: https://youtu.be/s5cXSwBDhpk?si=wCLYoERyhFYnoygI Original truss rod cover and pick guard. Somewhere along the line the crummy sounding late 70s T-tops were switched for a set of Seymour Duncan’s. Likely at that time the pots were replaced. The tailpiece is lightweight aluminum. It says “made in Germany” on the bottom. Based on my research, this was made by Schaller. The bridge is also made in Germany. See photos. I’m not sure if these are original but may have been added later. At one point the tuners were changed for Grovers with metal tulips for buttons. The strap buttons have been changed. It was missing knobs when I got it, so I installed a proper set of reflector knobs. Overall a fabulous late 70s Les Paul with some serious player upgrades. The neck profile is a nice comfortable medium. It’s not a baseball bat, but not razor thin either. The guitar is in “good” vintage condition. See the reverb condition guide for how that fits in the scale of overall condition. It’s got finish wear on the back of the neck and on the back of the body. There is some dulling to the finish in the forearm area, some scratches, dings, and other signs of wear. It’s nothing terrible, but not a mint guitar. Truss rod turns as it should. Neck has the proper relief. The guitar comes housed in an SKB hardshell case. The plastic has some cracks on it in a couple places. However, the inner part is form fit, and the case is more than functional/usable. It will definitely keep the guitar safe in shipment and is still functional. This guitar is listed on multiple platforms.
