Description: For sale is an ultra rare piece of foreign currency: a 1977 Russia "10 Units" Test Note graded and certified by PMG as Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ, which stands for "Exceptional Paper Quality." When nations look for new designs for their currency they ask different designers and artists to submit designs, and then they print these designs into actual currency to see what the final finished product will look like. These are called "Specimen" or "Test Notes" and are considered very rare because so few are made, and are often destroyed after the test period, so the ones that survive are considered very rare. This note was for Russia and although there is no date on it, research reveals it was 1977 to 1980. It is called the Queen of Spades Note because of the design on the reverse. The obverse features Alexander Pushkin, who was a prominent Russian Poet who lived 1799 to 1837. The designer of the note was De La Rue Giori, as indicated on the note label. As you can see from the pics the note is in amazing uncirculated shape. All its colors are bold and vibrant and just pop. It has no folds at all, and has no rips, tears, or major stains. And with it already being graded and certified by PMG at a very high CU 65 EPQ it gives you confidence to its grade and authenticity. This is an great rare and beautiful vintage Note great for any currency collection. Thanks!
