Description: 786 291 3622 Vehicle Original VIN : WP0ZZZ93ZFS000469 The 930 Turbo presented here is a proper example of an American tuned hotrod turbo Porsche that also carries the prestige of being an original slantnose with a certificate of authenticity. Creating the street 935 presence this slantnose has, begins with the exterior, featuring a AIR 935 bumper, 935 style side skirts, and a DP motorsports rear deck lid. A proper hotrod is never just aesthetically tweaked, the factory 3.3L has been fully refreshed and fitted with some of the best era correct parts necessary to produce the 400whp this car is able to put down. Inside the drivers compartment the same trend of special era correct parts and 935 styling continues with many parts from D-Zug such as the full carbon lollipop bucket seats, 935 style shifter, and the “dial of death” manual boost controller just to list a few. In its totality this 930 Slantnose is a proper analog aircooled turbo experience providing the right sound, the right look and the right feel. Background & Details Prior to 1987 all slantnose 930s had to be ordered through the special wishes program making them much more rare, being a 1985 this slantnose is 1 of only 44 and 1 of only 204 total version 2 slantnoses. With this 930 turbo being a european market car one of the major differences is the fuel system, the european fuel system is much robust and has the ability to support more power due to the larger fuel lines running to the module and the fuel lines running to each cylinder. Another interesting aspect to note is the history of the vehicle, it was originally imported from Germany in 1989 by the father of a friend of ours. After being imported the car spent much of its life in Georgia being maintained and modified by local shops and other owners, we have some archival pictures of the cars early life in the US. Driver Experience The analog feeling that is desired by many enthusiasts especially when it comes to aircooled Porsches is very much alive and amplified in this 930. The experience of driving this 930 is precisely what a turbo Porsche hotrod should be, the feeling of the 935 style shifter, the lowered seating position of the lollipops bucket seats, the timeless feel of the prototipo, the way the power comes on and the scream of the exhaust that goes with it all add up to a part of why we refer to it as a Street 935. As great as it is to feel like a racecar, another great aspect of this 930 is that it still maintains a reasonable amount of streetability, having a fully functional HVAC stystem, full interior, and a functioning audio system. All aspects of driving this 930 feels very tight with each input you make having a direct reaction from the car, the engine pulls strong all the way to the upper end of the revrange with the boost from the turbo hitting hard. Each gear change feels tight and precise thanks to the 935 D-Zug shifter and the Moorespeed refreshed transmission. The suspension feels firm yet compliant, taking bumps at high and low speed in stride thanks to the upgraded bilstein struts, adjustable sway bars, monoball front strut mounts, and with the majority of the other suspension components being refreshed. Condition report Starting with the exterior the condition of this 930 is very good and presents nicly with only minor imperfects as to be expected with the age of the vehicle, the guards red paint covering the body presents nicely. The four 17 inch Fikse FM10 show very nicely with no curbrash or bends, a set of Nitto NT05 tires wrap the wheels in sizes 235/40 front and 315/35 rear. The interior has been kept in great condition showing minimal wear, the dash has no cracks and the suede covering the seats is in great condition with no excessive wear. Mechanically everything is tight and feels very fresh, all suspension feels tight yet compliant, the engine pulls strongly all the way through the revrange and the transmission shifts through each gear precisely and smoothly. A benefit of using a Turbo as a base is the wider fenders and quarters from the factory allowing this 930 to fit a set of big lipped SSR professors under its wide arches. The tuning menu for the rest of car reads off like a dream build for any modified porsche enthusiast, AP racing big brakes all around, custom built coilover conversion with external reservoirs, 935 style control arms and crossmember, electric power steering, Close ration G50 5 speed, Autogarage TBK bumpers, 964 oil cooler, and a pair Recaro seats to top it off. The idea for this car was to have turbo power without lack of response, at almost any rpm the acceleration on tap will surprise you and aid in your ability to control the car with easier throttle input. The styling of the car is that of a touge style canyon carver, the famed TBK kit has been utilized but with a twist. The fog lights have been moved to the center to give it a street rally look and allow for the fog light buckets to be utilized as cooling ducts allowing more air to reach the oil cooler at the lower speeds seen on a touge. Condition Report : Engine and drivetrainMechanically this car is in excellent condition pulling hard to redline with plenty of torque at pretty much any time thanks to the increased engine capacity. Each gear you go through leads into a tight and precise shift into the next without making any fuss. In terms of power and drivetrain everything feels as it should and very healthy. Recent service includes timing chain guides, timing chain tensioner, oil change with Motul 300V 15w-50, sway bar bushing, a general inspection of the vehicle, and nut bolt track prep. Chassis & FootworkThanks to the fully worked over suspension this 930 is on rails and allows for confidence when sending the torque of the 4.0L to the tires. All components of the suspension are in excellent condition and don’t make any squeaks or sounds out of the ordinary for a suspension setup of this caliber. Braking has been addressed with AP racing 6 piston calipers up front and 4 piston calipers in the rear, both being mated to two piece floating rotors and performance brake pads with plenty of life. The chassis of this 930 is in great condition showing no signs of an accident as well as no signs of corrosion. Exterior & Interior On the outside this 930 definitely has the right look, in terms of condition it is very good with very few imperfections for a car of its age. The color enveloping the body of this 930 is a custom mixture that seems to have a base of a metallic graphite gray or gunmetal gray with a good bit of bronze and gold metallic mixed in, resulting in a color that changes a fair bit depending on the light. Moving to the interior it is in very good condition and only shows signs of wear indicative of its age. The leather covered Recaro SPGs are in good condition and have aged beautifully, the rest of the interior is in good shape with no major imperfections.
