Description: I bought this Bass brand new after spending an entire summer hustling all over Queens, New York on my Bicycle selling nickel bags and loose joints. I bought it from Mannys Music in New York City and I bought it brand spanking new. When I realized there was more money in selling car parts that’s how I really got the cash. But all good things must come to an end and before I knew it, I was in youth authority. LoL 2 years later I got out but while I was in my mother put my bass guitar at my uncles house who also was a bass player. he hadnt played in years because he had a damage left hand from the Korean War. My uncle and my father both purchased their precision basses from Leo Fender and his builder Tadio Gomez When they came into a little honky-tonk bar in upstate New York in 1951.. My father after trying out the precision base that Leo brought into the bar, he quickly. Made the purchase and when he bought one, he asked Leo if he could purchase another one and about 2 weeks later it was delivered for my father‘s brother. That was 1951. Shortly thereafter, the Korean War started and my father and his brother joined the United States Marine Corps. They went to war in Korea and after the war when they both came home, my father could play, but his brother‘s hand was terribly damaged. Even though his hand was damaged he still collected bass guitars with the hopes that one day surgery could help him, but it never came to be. When I got out and noticed that my 77 Jazz bass was missing, I asked my mother what happened to it because I thought my brother sold it to buy drugs and that’s when she told me it’s at your uncle Sal’s house. I went over there and told my uncle I wanted my jazz bass back but he had no idea what I was talking about. so I told my father that he needed to talk to his brother before I started to mess things up over there and that’s when my father said leave him alone. He’s not right in his head. My father said use this one till I can figure it out and he handed me a case. When I opened it up, it was a 1966 FENDER precision jazz bass . That’s the Fender P Bass with a jazz bass neck factory made by fender. I have been playing that bass since 1982. A bunch of years went by and recently my uncle passed away so my father got his entire collection. As we were going through the cases, my father got sick and he also passed away. I have an insane collection of beautiful pre-CBS bass guitars as well as CBS error up to present day, but I am a hoarder and I hardly ever sell anything but this one needs to be played. It’s absolutely amazing and if I open the case right now and I plug her in and play it again I won’t sell it so if you like it now you’ll never find another one in this beautiful shape. it is absolutely gorgeous for a 47 year-old piece of wood. Lol this is definitely one of the nicest jazz bases in my collection, but I want it to go to a bass player and not a collector. I will not sell this to a collector. It has got to go to a bass player and you better prove to me that you know how to play. I do not want this sold to where it will just sit any case someone else’s storage for another 20 years they’ll sell it for $20,000. I want it to be sold to a bass player who will love it, take care of it, abuse, it to their own liking instead of it going to a collector like I said it will just sit in the case until years go by and they could sell it for more money.. I am holding hostage, disgustingly, beautiful, and pristine bass guitars that one day I will donate to a museum or I will give some away to those that I know deserve it and will love them as much as I do. At least I try to cycle through them as much as I possibly can. There’s 387 of them, which is insane. If you look at the picture that has me standing in my kitchen where on the other side of my kitchen is the living room. There’s probably 100 bases right there and all four bedrooms are filled plus amplifiers are everywhere especially my 1966 AMPEG B 15 porta flex fliptop unit. There is a 66 amp peg and a 67 but the 66 is the one that Jesus plays up in heaven. Trust me… Jesus loves the bass guitar through his AMPEG B 15N . There is nothing like a 1966 AMPEG . EVEN THE 67 SOUNDS DIFFERENT. ANYWAY, IF YOU GOT THE MONEY SPEND IT. DON’T BE A FOOL AND THINK ABOUT IT TOO LONG BECAUSE WHEN YOU GO BACK, IT WON’T BE THERE. HOW MANY TIMES HAS THAT HAPPENED TO YOU ALREADY? I WILL NEVER LET THAT HAPPEN TO ME AGAIN. I hate when the letters get stuck. Lol. Good luck adding this to your lineup. Make sure you play it. You’ll be glad you did.
