Description: 1976 Redline Hot Wheels American Hauler Minty Blue Enamel All Original Mint! Designed by Larry Wood, and produced in Hong Kong. Blue cab with white plastic cargo box. Red, white and blue tampos on the sides, with "American Hauler." Of course, the biggest event going on in 1976 was the celebration of the U.S. Bicentennial. Patriotism was displayed proudly everywhere, even through some pretty tough times. Mattel celebrated a bit themselves, issuing two haulers with patriotic colors: the American Hauler and the American Tipper. The 1974 line introduced the term "Flying Colors", a marketing scheme to make the less popular enamel paints more popular. The flying colors era continued through 1977, which was the end of the redline era altogether. Enjoy!
