Description: Here's a great offbeat gift for the Realtor, real estate salesperson, or home appraiser in your life! This is the 1975 edition of the Residential Cost Handbook, laying out how to properly value a residential property. The introduction reads "...Providing cost data for use in determining up-to-date local replacement costs of residences and yard improvements...(including the) Square Foot Method (and) Segregated Cost Method". The book is in very good to excellent condition. Frankly, it looks like it was rarely (if ever) used. It's kind of a giggle to see some of the mid-70's era estimates. For example, allow $500 for a microwave oven...add 48 cents per square foot for a plaster interior...and so on. It's fascinating to see how things have changed in the last half-century! This book also includes the March 1977 supplement. And, I'll throw in a "Home Value-Rater" leaflet published by Colonial Penn Insurance Company, apparently from 1978. Feel free to ask questions - and thanks for reading this!
