McLendon has been named vice-president for Division Operations in Louisiana Power and Light Company's General Office Executive group in Algiers, said E.A. Rodrigue, LP&L president. Formerly assistant to the president, McLendon succeeds J.F. Bautsch Jr., who retires May 1. McLendon joined LP&L in 1947 and served in commercial, residential, rural and industrial sales departments before becoming division sales manager in the company's West Bank Division. In 1959 he was named district manager in Metairie. He later served as industrial sales manager, executive assistant in LP&L's general office and corporate services manager, before being named assistant to the president in January, 1975.
